Reservoir built in 1960 by damming Pallan Oya River near Wadinagala mountain (2400 ft). Stores about 93,000 acres of water, irrigates paddy & sugar cane, supports local fishermen and provides drinking water to Ampara. Surrounded by wildlife including elephants and diverse bird species.
