A historic aristocratic mansion located in Kolonne, between Embilipitiya and Suriyawewa. Built in the 18th century, it blends Kandyan, Indian, and colonial architectural styles. Once the seat of power for the Maduwanwela family, it is now a preserved heritage site under the Department of Archaeology.

Home of Sir James William Maduwanwela, the βBlack Prince of Sabaragamuwa.β Myths include the gifting of a white deer to the king, receiving vast land for capturing a Dutch prisoner, a pirith room with ceramic mosaics, and a low-temperature courtroom. The upper floor was inspired by Mahatma Gandhiβs house. The mansion once had 121 rooms and 21 courtyards. Symbolic carvings on gates and walls depict birds and flowers representing prosperity and good governance.
