Makaraya

A natural whirlpool (Dragon Mouth) formed where the Gal Oya River flows into the Senanayake Samudraya reservoir at Inginiyagala. Best accessed via boat. Near Bird’s Island, a nesting ground for birds and a scenic spot where elephants cross water. Also one of the four main campsites in Gal Oya National Park, popular with wildlife and bird watchers.
