Sangamankanda Point

The easternmost point of Sri Lanka, featuring untouched beaches up to 100m wide. It houses the remains of a lighthouse built in 1947 (damaged by the 2004 tsunami, only 15 ft remains). The area also includes ruins of an ancient Buddhist temple and a modern Ganesh Kovil. Accessing the lighthouse involves crossing private land and walking off-road. Ideal for nature lovers and adventurers.
