The Japanese Peace Pagoda
Built in 1988 as a world peace initiative by Nichidatsu Fujii, featuring a stupa, shrine with Mahayana influence, and 99 small stupas near the Ampara tank. Site survived eastern Sri Lankaβs violence and is near a famous elephant crossing.
